Baseball Recap: Oakdale Comes Up Short

Oakdale lost against Vermilion Catholic back in March of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kylar Ballard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Oakdale's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Vermilion Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakdale will take on Leesville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Vermilion Catholic, they will face off against Erath at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
