Recap: Columbus Christian Crusaders vs. Medora Hornets

The Columbus Christian Crusaders were the 53-37 winner over the Medora Hornets when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Columbus Christian falling 68-53. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Columbus Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Peyton Walden, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds, and Josh Conrad who scored 13 points along with two steals. Walden hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. Branson Carr was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Medora can attribute much of their success to Dawson Cornett, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Cornett scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Nugen, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.

Columbus Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Medora, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Columbus Christian will be playing at home against Seven Oaks Classical at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. Seven Oaks Classical is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Medora, Medora and Pleasant View Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Pleasant View Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
