It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Fontainebleau Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 53-42 win over St. Joseph's Academy. For Fontainebleau, this counts as revenge for the 39-36 loss St. Joseph's Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Fontainebleau got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Annalise Shidel out in front who scored 14 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Shidel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynne Callahan, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Fontainebleau's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Fontainebleau will face off against Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph's Academy, they will play host again and welcome Glen Oaks, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Glen Oaks is ranked 147th, while St. Joseph's Academy is ranked 170th).
