Recap: East Central HomeSchool Patriots vs. Southern Christian Patriots
The East Central HomeSchool Patriots entered their tilt with the Southern Christian Patriots with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. East Central HomeSchool took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-24 victory over the Patriots. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Central HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Coalson, who scored 28 points along with six assists and four steals. Coalson hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Emily Rea was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Southern Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camdyn Oswald, who scored six points along with nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Oswald pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cason Oswald, who scored six points.
East Central HomeSchool pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.7 points. As for Southern Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Central HomeSchool is on the road again on Monday and plays the Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Evangel Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Southern Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Tuscaloosa Home Educators is ranked 335th, while the Patriots are ranked 328th).
