Basketball Recap: Tarbut V' Torah Comes Up Short on the Road Against St. Margaret's

Tarbut V' Torah had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 82-61 to the St. Margaret's Tartans. The Lions lost against the Tartans in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 90-25 score last time.

Despite the loss, Tarbut V' Torah had strong showings from Ari Varon, who posted 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Jonathan Groner, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Marzouk, who had seven points and three steals.

Looking ahead, Tarbut V' Torah will head out to square off against Pacifica at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Margaret's, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calvary Chapel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
