Baseball Recap: Switzerland County Comes Up Short

Switzerland County dropped their record down to 5-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Southwestern Rebels, falling 7-1. The contest marked the Pacers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Switzerland County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Eaglin, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Eaglin's first of the season.

As for Southwestern, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Southwestern's side, Tryson Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Warren has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Varble, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Jenkins, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
