Baseball Recap: Verdigris Comes Up Short

Verdigris was the 16-0 winner over Lincoln Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Monday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Verdigris' loss dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Lincoln Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Verdigris will challenge Cleveland at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln Christian, they will square off against Berryhill at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
