Basketball Game Preview: Yuma Outlaws vs. Centauri Falcons

The Yuma Outlaws will challenge the Centauri Falcons at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Yuma sitting on four straight victories and Centauri on 25.

Yuma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They slipped by Liberty Common 47-46. Given the Outlaws' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Eagles are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Centauri blew past Bayfield, posting a 61-32 win. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Yuma's victory bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Centauri, their win bumped their record up to 25-0.

Yuma won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, slipping by Centauri 35-34. Will Yuma repeat their success, or does Centauri have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
