Volleyball Recap: Miamisburg Takes a Loss

Miamisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Archbishop Alter Knights, falling 3-0. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Miamisburg was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Archbishop Alter work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-11, 26-24.

Aleeyah Hamilton paced Miamisburg's offense, picking up seven kills. Hamilton got some help from Reagan Toole and her 12 assists. Finally, Jordyn Mumpower kept Miamisburg's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop Alter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Regalla, who had 14 digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Markowski, who had 17 assists and seven digs.

Miamisburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Archbishop Alter, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Miamisburg has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Oakwood on the 21st. As for Archbishop Alter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Waynesville on the 23rd.
