Softball Recap: Riverdale Country Takes a Loss

If Riverdale Country was feeling good fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Horace Mann on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Hackley Hornets on Friday, falling 11-1. The Falcons have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Riverdale Country saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reena Palkhiwala, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Sophie Otterman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Riverdale Country's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hackley, their record is now 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Riverdale Country is set to face off against their familiar foe Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hackley will square off against rival St. Luke's at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
