The home team had won the previous four meetings between Liberty Center and Swanton, and Liberty Center kept the tradition alive. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Tigers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

Liberty Center never let Swanton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-23.

Aletha Fausnight paced Liberty Center's offense, picking up 13 kills. Fausnight got some help from Aubree Zeiter and her 18 assists.

Swanton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Saunders, who had 17 assists and six digs. Saunders has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played. Kaylee Mosko also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Liberty Center's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Swanton, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.

Liberty Center and Swanton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Tigers will face off against Hicksville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (261 vs. 589). Meanwhile, Swanton (ranked 200th) will meet Northwood (ranked 651st) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
