Softball Recap: Ukiah Wildcats vs. Piner Prospectors
After losing to Piner the last time they met, Ukiah decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Prospectors on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Taylor Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Allen wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Annmarie Brown, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Ukiah's record now sits at 15-8. As for Piner, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 16-7.
