Soccer Game Preview: Cocke County vs. Seymour

Cocke County hasn't had much luck against Seymour recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Fighting Cocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cocke County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Northview Academy by a score of 2-0. The win was all the more spectacular given Cocke County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Northview Academy are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, Seymour waltzed into their game two weeks ago with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Mavericks 4-1. The result was nothing new for Seymour, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Seymour's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cocke County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.

Everything went Cocke County's way against Seymour in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Cocke County made off with a 4-0 victory. Do the Fighting Cocks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
