It's playoff time, and Wheaton North had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-3  victory over the West Aurora Blackhawks  on Saturday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 Hannah Wulf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Ava Hartnett, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April.  Makayla Hammer was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Wheaton North  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in seven consecutive  matchups.
Wheaton North pushed their record up to 23-8 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for West Aurora,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 15-17.
As of now, neither Wheaton North nor the Blackhawks have any future games scheduled.
