Basketball Recap: Yunior Caraballo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Colonial Christian over Redland Christian Academy

Colonial Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 77-71 heartbreaker at the hands of the Redland Christian Academy FALCONS. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the FALCONS earlier this season, when they won 67-61.

Colonial Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Yunior Caraballo, who went 9 for 19 en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Alexander Ovalle was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Redland Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Prince Howell, Jr, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Palmer, who put up 13 points.

Colonial Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Redland Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Colonial Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-50 loss against Mater Bay Academy on the 21st. Redland Christian Academy has also already played their next contest (against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
