Football Recap: Palmer Takes a Loss

Palmer's last matchup with Franklin County Tech could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Panthers had to suffer through a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Matthew Santos threw for 39 yards on one of eight attempts. Jordan Jones was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Maxon Brunette and Nathan Sabolevski. Brunette rushed for 154 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry while Sabolevski rushed for 69 yards and three scores on only nine carries. Franklin County Tech is undefeated when Brunette posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Franklin County Tech, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Palmer will be playing at home against Mahar Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Senators at the right time seeing as the Senators are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Franklin County Tech, they will square off against Athol at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
