Football Recap: McDaniel Mountain Lions vs. Franklin Quakers
McDaniel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklin Quakers. The Mountain Lions lost against the Quakers in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 36-0 score last time.

Several Mountain Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tre'Marion Crawford, who picked up 158 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Crawford was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 57 yards. Jesse Jones handled things on the ground, rushing for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Cooper Haug continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin, rushing for 165 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Those 165 rushing yards gave Haug a new career-high.
McDaniel's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Franklin, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-6.
As of now, neither McDaniel nor the Quakers have any future games scheduled.
