Softball Recap: Pine River Area Gets the Win

Pine River Area took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Beal City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bucks skirted past the Aggies 11-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bucks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Lilly Felsk, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Wanstead, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Pine River Area's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Beal City, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

When Pine River Area and Beal City next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Bucks will try to stop Hart's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:15 p.m. on May 1. Meanwhile, Beal City will challenge Evart and their six-game winning streak at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
