Soccer Game Preview: Basha vs. Casteel

The Basha Bears will face off against the Casteel Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Basha comes in on three and Casteel on ten.

Basha's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Chandler 7-0. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Casteel was able to grind out a solid victory over Mountain View on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0. Give the Colts' defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Casteel used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Mountain View. Kira Phillips played for 80 minutes having averaged 43.2 this season and Tatum Gardner got 80 vs. an average of 51.1. Gardner made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Basha is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those nine matches. As for Casteel, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
