Recap: Barrington Eagles vs. Woonsocket Villa Novans

There's no place like home for the Barrington Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They secured a 55-50 W over Woonsocket on Thursday. Given Barrington's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while Woonsocket is ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barrington had a senior duo take command as Nick Scandura scored 26 points and Matt Raffa scored 19 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Scandura has scored at least a third of Barrington's points.

Barrington's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points per game. As for Woonsocket, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will take on Westerly at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woonsocket, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cumberland at 6:30 p.m.
