Basketball Recap: Wapsie Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oelwein last Tuesday, Wapsie Valley came back down to earth. The Wapsie Valley Warriors fell just short of the South Hardin Tigers by a score of 72-69 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since December 12, 2023.

Wapsie Valley now has a losing record at 8-9. As for South Hardin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapsie Valley has already played their next contest (against Jesup), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Hardin will square off against Dike-New Hartford at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. South Hardin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Dike-New Hartford likes a good challenge.
