Baseball Recap: Citrus Comes Up Short

Citrus suffered their closest loss since March 11th on Friday. They fell just short of the Central Bears by a score of 2-0. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Citrus saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Weston Brannen, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Brannen has become a key player for the Hurricanes: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise.

Citrus' defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Central, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-10.

Citrus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Weeki Wachee on the 8th. As for Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-2 win against Lecanto on the 8th.
