Football Recap: Barrow Takes Down Ranked Homer

Barrow faced Homer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Whalers came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 22-14. This was a revenge game for the Whalers: when they faced off against the Mariners back in August, they had to take a 34-0 loss.

Leading Barrow to victory were Malu Lauvao and John Taylor. Lauvao gained 82 total yards and three touchdowns, while Taylor threw for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Barrow's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-1.
