Softball Game Preview: Pope Francis Prep Cardinals vs. Hampden Charter School of Science

Pope Francis Prep has gone a perfect 4-0 against Hampden Charter School of Science recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cardinals will head out on the road to take on Hampden Charter School of Science at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Pope Francis Prep's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.

On Tuesday, Pope Francis Prep made easy work of Springfield Renaissance and carried off a 22-3 win. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with Springfield Renaissance recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Gianna Percy and Misha Lacroix made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Percy tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Lacroix tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. At bat, Percy scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Lacroix scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those stolen bases were Lacroix's first of the season.

In other batting news, Pope Francis Prep let Taylor Moreau and Annabella Cintron run wild. Moreau went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Cintron scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, Cintron is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Lacey Bermudez-Lizardi was another key player, scoring four runs while going 2-for-4.

Pope Francis Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .737. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hampden Charter School of Science didn't have quite enough to beat Commerce on Tuesday and fell 8-7.

Pope Francis Prep's record is now 3-1. As for Hampden Charter School of Science, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
