Calhoun and Rice Consolidated are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Calhoun Sandcrabs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rice Consolidated Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Calhoun's offense. They came up short against Hallettsville on Tuesday, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Rice Consolidated was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-2 to El Campo. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 692nd, while the Ricebirds are ranked 269th).

Rice Consolidated's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Calhoun, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Calhoun skirted past Rice Consolidated 2-1 when the teams last played back in January. Will Calhoun repeat their success, or does Rice Consolidated have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
