Basketball Recap: Dickson Comets vs. Madill Wildcats
If the Dickson Comets were feeling good off their 83-53 takedown of the Marietta Indians last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Dickson was beaten by the Wildcats 68-38 on Tuesday. Dickson has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Madill had a senior duo take command as Ethan Wilkerson dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds and Brylan James scored 20 points along with six assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jd Runyan, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Dickson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Madill, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dickson will take on the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Comets in Oklahoma (the Redskins are ranked 116th, while the Comets are ranked 298th). As for Madill, they will head out on the road to take on the Braves at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
