Basketball Game Preview: Dysart Demons vs. Tempe Buffaloes

Dysart is 5-0 against Tempe since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dysart Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tempe Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Dysart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Tempe likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Dysart made easy work of Cortez and carried off a 62-37 victory. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Dysart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamar Anderson, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Anderson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Santiago Leyva, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Tempe was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 71-65 to Yuma. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dysart will need focus on slowing down Sa?Veon Mccrimon, one of several Tempe players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points. Arthur Murphy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Dysart has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Tempe, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Dysart and Tempe are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Dysart hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.4 points per game. However, it's not like Tempe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61.4 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Dysart strolled past Tempe when the teams last played on January 7th by a score of 62-46. Does Dysart have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tempe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
