Softball Recap: Royal Wins Going Away Against West Ranch

Royal lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Ranch, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Royal Highlanders put the hurt on the West Ranch Wildcats with a sharp 10-0 win on Saturday. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 10-8 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The result came thanks to Julianna Galbraith's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Hayden Miller was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mikaela Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Royal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Royal and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Ranch, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Royal will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Ranch: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
