Basketball Recap: Brady Nick Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Omaha South

Lincoln High won the last time they faced Omaha South and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lincoln High Links walked away with a 67-55 victory over the Omaha South Packers. Given the Links' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Packers are ranked 221st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln High's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Nick, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points. Nick has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Jairik Gilmore was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Omaha South lost, don't look at Lou Hodoly. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Ruffin, who put up ten points and seven rebounds.

Lincoln High's record is now 5-6. As for Omaha South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Lincoln High wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-64 victory against Columbus on the 17th. As for Omaha South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-66 loss against Benson on the 17th.
