Baseball Recap: Hillel Academy Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Hillel Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Geibel Catholic Gators.

Ezra Goldberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Hillel Academy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dovid Blalock, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Hillel Academy pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Geibel Catholic, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gators beat Hillel Academy by a score of 2-1 on Monday.
