Basketball Recap: North Branch Comes Up Short

North Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] Wolverines on the road by a 70-55 margin. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia], their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.

North Branch will square off against Princeton at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. North Branch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Princeton likes a good challenge. As for Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia], they are taking a road trip to challenge Cloquet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloquet will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] surely won't give up without a fight.
