Basketball Recap: Oaktree Academy Comes Up Short

Oaktree Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Summit Christian Academy on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summit Christian Academy Eagles. The Grizzlies' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Summit Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Miller, who went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. That's the most steals Miller has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtland Reiter, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Oaktree Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Oaktree Academy has already played their next contest (against Veritas Collegiate Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Summit Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge TEACH Homeschool at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Christian Academy is facing TEACH Homeschool at the right time seeing as TEACH Homeschool is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
