Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Windsor Wizards

Skyline hasn't had much luck against Windsor recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Wizards at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Frederick hit Skyline with a five-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 10-0. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Windsor came up short against Fossil Ridge on Thursday and fell 8-3.

Windsor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eastin Hubbard, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 6-15-1. As for Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Skyline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Skyline couldn't quite finish off Windsor when the teams last played back in March of 2022 and fell 4-2. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
