Softball Recap: Rosa Fort Takes a Loss

Rosa Fort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 21-12 to the Coahoma County Red Panthers. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Rosa Fort got a massive performance out of Seleena Grant, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two stolen bases. That home run marked the first that Grant launched this season. Erin Palmer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.

Rosa Fort's loss dropped their record down to 0-14-1. As for Coahoma County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Rosa Fort is taking a road trip to square off against Holly Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Coahoma County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
