Softball Recap: Norwich Free Academy's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Norwich Free Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Masuk on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Dakota Bourdon spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Norwich Free Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Romains, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Norwich Free Academy fell to 3-1. As for Masuk, the win was the 31st in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Norwich Free Academy will take on Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Masuk, they will welcome Brookfield at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
