Softball Recap: Waggener Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Waggener's offense. They came up short against the Presentation Toppers on Thursday, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Waggener has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Presentation, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Waggener will challenge Western at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Presentation, they will be playing at home against Brown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Toppers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
