Volleyball Recap: Sargent Farmers vs. Cheraw Wolverines
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sargent can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cheraw Wolverines on Friday. The Farmers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 17-25, 25-18.
Kandace Pargin paced Sargent's offense, picking up 14 kills. Pargin got some help from
Reese Anderson and her 21 assists. Finally, Pargin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.
Cheraw's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylee Wyckoff led the charge by getting 14 digs. Hailey Ricken was another key player, getting 11 digs.
Sargent's defeat dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Cheraw, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Sargent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheraw has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Briggsdale on the 15th.
