The Jacksboro Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Paradise Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Jacksboro was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rogers on Saturday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Eagles. The game marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Brooke Reaves was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Holly Lehman, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. McKenna Bouldin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Paradise put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Era a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like Jacksboro, Paradise also got a great game from a two-way player: Gabriella Handley. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Handley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brooke Limbaugh and Celeste Mast did most of the damage at the plate: Limbaugh went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Mast went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Paradise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .450 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Jacksboro's record is now 3-4. As for Paradise, their record now sits at 8-0.
Jacksboro came out on top in a nail-biter against Paradise when the teams last played back in February of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
