Cathedral took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Jeffersonville Red Devils by a score of 76-63. The Fighting Irish pushed the score to 61-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Cathedral's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Gold Jr, who posted 12 points and six assists. R'Mani Wells was another key player, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 11 points.

Cathedral smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Cathedral will face off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jeffersonville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
