Basketball Game Preview: Godwin Eagles vs. Matoaca Warriors

The Godwin Eagles will head out to face off against the Matoaca Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Godwin ended up a good deal behind Deep Run and lost 53-38. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Matoaca had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 59-22 win over Greensville County. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Godwin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Matoaca, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Godwin was able to grind out a solid victory over Matoaca when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 44-37. Will Godwin repeat their success, or does Matoaca have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
