Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Chelsea Kossmann and Riley Conklin Lead University City to Victory + How To Watch

University City won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Thursday too. The Centurions came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Centurions.

University City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-11.

Leading University City to victory were Riley Conklin and Chelsea Kossmann. Conklin had seven digs and four aces, while Kossmann had 12 digs and one assist. Those 12 digs gave Kossmann a new career-high. Ava Chiaramonte also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: University City was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in seven consecutive matches.

The victory got University City back to even at 16-16. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

University City has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Patrick Henry on the 14th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Pacifica on the 11th.
