Baseball Recap: Assumption Comes Up Short

Assumption fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Loyal on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Greyhounds. The Royals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Camden Martin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. JJ Oswald was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Assumption now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Loyal, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Coming up, Assumption will square off against Athens at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Loyal, they will venture away from home to face off against Marathon at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Greyhounds surely won't give up without a fight.
