Basketball Recap: Windsor Takes Down Pueblo East in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Windsor had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Pueblo East Eagles, posting a 69-39 victory. The Wizards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Madden Smiley was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-15 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was John Backhaus, who posted eight points in addition to 16 boards and five assists.

Windsor has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. The loss snapped Pueblo East's winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Looking ahead, Windsor will square off against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
