Baseball Game Preview: Stuart W. Cramer Storm vs. Shelby Golden Lions

The Stuart W. Cramer Storm will head out to face off against the Shelby Golden Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Stuart W. Cramer put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Ashbrook with a sharp 23-1 win. With that victory, the Storm brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Chris Wurster was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Aydan Bradley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wurster wasn't the only one making solid contact: Stuart W. Cramer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for the Storm: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.8.

Meanwhile, Shelby made easy work of Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Lions.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Stuart W. Cramer, bringing their record up to 8-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Shelby, their record is now 4-10.

Stuart W. Cramer came up short against Shelby in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 5-2. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
