Recap: Orem Tigers vs. Wasatch Wasps
The Orem Tigers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on Wasatch with a sharp 48-24 victory on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-3.
Orem got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mack Hixson out in front who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Hixson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Lance Reynolds III also helped out by tossing the rock for 254 yards.
Several Wasps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Bucad, who picked up 83 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jojo Hyer was another key contributor, picking up 136 receiving yards.
Orem is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Wasatch, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Orem will head out on the road to face off against Timpview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Timpview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Orem likes a good challenge. Wasatch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
