Soccer Recap: Poway Takes a Loss

Poway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Del Norte Nighthawks. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Nighthawks are ranked eighth).

Aiden Bauer and Carlo Gonzalez-Martinez scored both of Poway's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-3. As for Del Norte, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-0-4 record this season.

Poway has already played their next contest (against Westview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Del Norte will be playing at home against San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Del Norte will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
