Softball Game Preview: Pajaro Valley Grizzlies vs. St. Francis Sharks

The Pajaro Valley Grizzlies are taking a road trip to take on the St. Francis Sharks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pajaro Valley has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pajaro Valley lost 14-4 to Gonzales on Wednesday.

Gloria Morales was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Virginia Escobar, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Greenfield, falling 14-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Sharks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pajaro Valley dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Pajaro Valley's way against St. Francis when the teams last played back in March, as Pajaro Valley made off with a 26-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
