Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Iroquois' Fourth in Last Five Outings

North East came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Iroquois, but Cajohn Howard wouldn't allow it. The Iroquois Braves narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the North East Grape Pickers 52-50 thanks in part to Howard, who went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 25 points and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 70% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Cole Bennett, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Iroquois has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for North East, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
