Football Recap: Marathon Takes a Loss

If Marathon was feeling good fresh off their 50-27 takedown of Weyauwega-Fremont last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Raiders were beaten by the Stratford Tigers 35-6 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Marathon now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stratford, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marathon is set to take on their familiar foe Wittenberg-Birnamwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stratford will challenge rival Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 12.6, the Falcons 13.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
