Volleyball Recap: Har-Ber Falls Short Against Ranked Fayetteville

Har-Ber faced Fayetteville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Har-Ber sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 17-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-7.

Har-Ber's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adyn Simpson, who had nine digs and six aces. Joely Tankersley was another key player, getting ten digs and eight assists.

Among those leading the charge was Lyla Blagg, who had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six matches. Maddie Head also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Har-Ber's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Fayetteville, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Har-Ber didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Catholic/Mt. St. Mary Academy on the 11th. As for Fayetteville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Lafayette on the 10th.
